Colonel Beauregard

Colonel Beauregard, my 93lb labrador/german shepherd, was diagnosed with bone cancer on March 10th, 2021. The devastating news came as a total shock because he’d just barely turned 9 years old. Osteosarcomas are a very aggressive type of cancer, so decisions had to be made quickly for his course of treatment. Without hesitation, I decided my best friend and companion was worth fighting for, and ultimately chose the most expensive course of action. Cancer immunotherapy may be costly, but it was the singular option that offered a better quality of life for my sweet boy plus the chance to have YEARS more with him. It was through a total fluke (I mistakenly called wrong number) that we stumbled upon Dr. Sullivan and his outstanding team at Bellingham Veterinary. Never throughout Beauregard’s entire life have we received better or more compassionate care than we have at Bellingham Vet. Because Beau has such an aggressive type of cancer, they agreed to move forward with treatment while I began the search for funding. Zeus Oncology Fund is a high regarded program and I feel blessed to have found them. Without their support, I would not be sitting here next to my best friend feeling hopeful for the future. They have helped give light to the end of this long, dark tunnel and I will forever be grateful for their kindness and generosity. The Colonel has a long course of treatment ahead, but every day I see him get a little bit stronger, and I know he is in to win this fight. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Zeus Oncology Fund for giving us hope. Love & light, Devin and Beau.
