When Kaia was diagnosed with primary frontal sinus squamous cell carcinoma (pFS-SCC) just after her fifth birthday, I was devastated. They thought she may have 3 years left, but after she has surgery that changed to 1 as the tumor was worse than her doctors had thought.
But my girl is a fighter – and after a major surgery and six long rounds of IV chemo, against all odds the cancer in her head was undetectable! Unfortunately, a new tumor seemed to be in her lung. She had already gone thru so much, and when I learned that her oral chemo would cost over $25/pill, and that ideally she would take it 3x/week for life, I was crushed. I couldn’t give up on my baby, because she wasn’t giving up!
Thankfully ZOF stepped in and helped offset some of the costs to help give Kaia the best chance she can have. My goal is to support Kaia in having the happiest, healthiest life she can and ZOF is so essential in that goal.
