Transmissible Venereal Tumor
Treatment-Chemotherapy
We adopted Lucas on July 9, 2018. On September 26, 2018, we found out that he had contracted Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT), a cancerous tumor transmitted through direct contact. We were told that luckily the tumor was treatable, but with rounds of chemotherapy and potential surgery. We contacted DLRR about his TVT, and they pointed us in the direction of Melissa and the Zeus Oncology Fund. Everyone at DLRR, and Melissa especially, are some absolutely incredible people, and they saved Lucas’s life. He went through three rounds of chemotherapy treatment and responded amazingly. The tumor shrunk day by day, and my little man was such a trooper through it all. Seven months later, he is fully cancer free and the happiest pup in the world! We could not have done it without the help of the ZOF and Melissa, and there will never be enough words to thank them for what they have done for my family.
